- Baby/children’s furniture & large equipment: car seats, strollers, baby swings, high chairs, booster seats, cribs, toddler beds, mattresses, dressers, bassinets, pack & plays, portable cribs, changing tables, baby gates, exersaucers, bouncers, floor gyms, bathtubs, bath chairs, children's stools/chairs/seats, potty seats, diaper disposal systems, adult-sized nursery rockers/gliders, child-sized rockers, student desks, etc. All furniture or layette items must be in great shape!
- Baby Equipment: Nursing & feeding equipment, breastpumps, bottles, infant carriers, slings, diaper bags, nursing bras, etc. ** see important note about these items below in PROHIBITED ITEMS ** NO used teething rings, used pacifiers or used yellow latex nipples. We do accept clear, silicone nipples with very little or no wear. NO used breast pump tubing (it cannot be properly sterilized). We do accept new or unused tubing.
- Any and ALL Baby/children’s clothing and shoes from size Newborn to middle-school-aged 14/16 that are NOT faded, pilled, torn or stained. See Merch Prep page for all clothing and shoe guidelines. All clothing must be seasonally appropriate. "Heavy" winter only items (such as coats, ski wear, hats/gloves, snow toys, etc.) are only allowed at the Fall sale. Swimwear, sandals, pool toys, etc. are allowed only at the Summer sale. "Lighter" outdoor wear such as sweatshirts, light jackets, pants, long-sleeved shirts, school uniforms, sports uniforms, dance/gymnastics wear, costumes, etc. are accepted year-round. Maternity clothing is accepted year-round.
- * NEW *Section at SPRING Sale (not FAll): PROM DRESSES & Boys / Girls FORMAL ATTIRE - Size Newborn and UP will be accepted but all formal wear MUST be size/age-appropriate for 17 yrs. and under! * NO ADULT CLOTHING *
- Children's Accessories such as hats, bibs, socks, hair bows, etc. are accepted year-round.
- Cloth Diapers - new or used (if bleached with no stains) as well as clean, unstained bibs, burp cloths, bath towels, washcloths, etc. in good condition. You can also sell disposable diapers.
- Children's sporting equipment - must be in GREAT shape. All uniform parts, shoes and sports equipment (including BIKES, skateboards, helmets, etc.) can be sold year-round. Bicycles must be in excellent condition...no rust! Breaks must work and tires must be inflated upon inspection. "Christmas gift" quality only!!!!
- TOYS - Clean toys (batteries included for on-site testing) of all types/sizes, puzzles, etc. that have no missing pieces, no broken parts and are fully functional are accepted year-round. LARGE toys and OUTSIDE toys such as playhouses, bikes, ride-ons, sell very quickly.
- Stuffed animals that move, talk, walk, sing, etc. (No plain stuffed animals will be accepted)
- Child-appropriate VHS/DVD/CDs accepted year-round. No "R" rated material.
- Electronics - gaming systems (Wii, Nintendo, Gameboys, X-Box, etc.), Child-appropriate games, iPods, mp3 players, computer software, gameboys, child-friendly radios, CDplayers, StoryReaders, Character TVs etc. are accepted year round. (No "M" Mature games allowed.) TMLS reserves the right to remove any material that we deem inappropriate.
- Books - children's books of all shapes/sizes/levels, educational/homeschooling materials are accepted as well as pregnancy and parenting books.
- Nursery/Children's bedding & decor - bedding, lamps, wall-hangings, shelving, pillows, adult or childrens rockers, etc.
- Maternity clothing which is NOT faded, torn or stained, all maternity items. Nursing bras.
TMLS Seasonal Sale Guidelines:
Many consignors don't realize the variety of items we accept until their first shopping/selling experience with The Mother Load Sale. Sometimes it's hard to know which items should be brought to the spring/summer or fall/winter sales. Below is a detailed list of what can/can’t be accepted at our SEASONAL sales. Because of limited floor/rack space, these guidelines must be strictly enforced by our staff. Remember, don’t fret, another Mother Load Sale is only six short months away.
General Items accepted at The Mother Load Sale YEAR ROUND
•
TOYS are the best sellers! We estimate that 90-95% of the toys brought to each sale are sold. The only seasonal exceptions concern pool toys and snow toys. (see list)
•Infant/Toddler Equipment sells great! For example: cribs, beds, mattresses, strollers, carseats, bathtubs, walkers, bouncy seats, etc.! Make sure all is as clean as “brand new.”
•Infant Supplies: Bottles, feeding bowls/utensils, boppy pillows, head rests, diaper bags, breast pumps, etc.
•Bedroom Decor: Comforters, blankets, pictures, mobiles, crib sheets, lamps, rugs, wall-hangings, etc.
•Education/Fun: Books, VHS or DVD videos, computer games, board games, music CD's or tapes.
•Man Cave items are YEAR ROUND
•Maternity clothing/items are YEAR ROUND
SPRING SALE CLOTHING:

The following NEW items are welcome in Daddy's MAN CAVE:
* TOOLS - large and small!
* Adult Sports Equipment of all shapes/sizes
* Bikes - Road and Mountain, Bike wear (Men’s and Women’s)
* Snow Gear - Snow Poles, Snow skis, Snowboards, Apparel
* Fishing Equipment - Gear, Apparel, Life Vests
* Camping Gear – Tents, Sleeping Bags, Camping Backpacks, , shoes/boots/apparel/CAMO
* Climbing Gear – includes shoes, boots, etc.
* Hunting Equipment (no guns, knives, or other weapons, NO AMMUNITION!)
* GPS units, Night Vision Equipment, Binoculars, Monoculars
* Eyewear - Goggles, Sunglasses (of athletic / sporting nature, not fashion eyewear)
* Home Improvement - Lawn care (no chemicals, only fume-free equipment)
* Outside Entertaining (can include electronics, Smokers, Grills, outdoors cooking equipment
* Safety Items for any outdoor sport or activity.
PROHIBITED ITEMS: NO CHEMICALS, PESTICIDES, FUELS can be allowed in the building. If you can’t MAIL IT at the Post Office, you can’t bring it to TMLS.
PROHIBITED ITEMS (any such items WILL be removed from the sales floor):
- Items on acceptable list that are faded, torn, stained, broken or not functioning
- Plain STUFFED ANIMALS that do not "do" anything.
- Dolls that have buttons, eyes, noses or other SMALL PARTS that are not securely fastened and could present a choking hazard for young children
- fast food KIDS MEAL TOYS or grab bags
- * USED * BREAST PUMP TUBING (it cannot be properly sterilized). We DO accept NEW/unused tubing.
- FOOD of any type or FORMULA
- * USED * TEETHING RINGS, used PACIFIERS or used yellow latex NIPPLES. We do accept clear, silicone nipples with very little or no wear.
- CAR SEATS that have been in accidents or which are older than 5 years (based on -date of manufacture stamped on seat) or seats that are missing their manufacturer sticker/stamp.
** Call the Department of Transportation at 1-800-424-9393 to see if your car seat has been
recalled & check out the Consumer Safety Commission's website for any toy recalls
- * USED * UNDERGARMENTS other than maternity bras. NEW underwear accepted only if UNOPENED.
- Mattresses except for crib/toddler bed mattresses
- VHS/DVDs or CDs without a cover/case, “Homemade” or copies of music or videos, damaged VHS/DVDs or CDs (please take the time to verify that your item has no scratches, skips, etc.) as well as any media that is not appropriate for a young audience.
- *NEW* MAN CAVE PROHIBITED ITEMS: NO CHEMICALS, PESTICIDES, FUELS can be allowed in the building. If you can’t MAIL IT at the Post Office, you can’t bring it.
** Note that as of February, 2009 it is illegal under federal law for consignors to knowingly sell or re-sell a
recalled product. **
It is the responsibility of each seller to visit the U.S. Consumer Safety Product Commission website
Mother Load Sale has any recall pertaining to it. safety recalled items of any kind.
Due to the recent toy recalls as well as the new lead laws, TMLS wants to clearly state that it is YOUR responsibility as the consignors to check the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website to make sure your toys, equipment and car seats have not been recalled. Please remember that YOU are the re-seller, not The Mother Load Sale. We are just facilitating the sale.
